Hy-Road X probably going to be a purchase for me. PhysiX makes me think Lock.
I agree. I really miss the Lock too. It was something I could float to my target and consistently have it read the lane the right way. Hy-Road X shoulf be really good for my game as well.

R2X was on Optimus Solid too.
So what finishing process would I need to get my Optimus Solid to have the same surface as the Hyroad X?

Well the RG on the Optimus is lower, so too get the distance down the lane you'll need to take the surface to to a higher grit. At a 2000 grit for storm you're looking at 360 grit and 2000 grit (with a ball spinner),  the hyroad is 1500 grit polish. I would try going from 360 and 2000 grit to 500, 1000,  2000, and finish with 3000 grit. It should get you added length and a sharper backend pretty much about the same reaction you'd get from a 1500 grit storm polish. If you get to much length you can stop at the 2000 and polish 2 sides, it'll take some length off the ball but should give you some good backend.

New stock of these two balls have been sitting in my pro shop tempting me since last week. Has anyone tried them yet?

HyRoad X is the first ball I've ever preordered as a non-PSO. There's going to be a 900 with that ball before the year is up. Mark my words.

While I had (and loved) the T-Road Pearl, I never had a T-Road Solid. HyRoad X is pretty darn close. I wonder what the difference is between R2X (HyRoad) and R2S (T-Road)?

I got to throw both balls at a storm demo this past weekend.

on the house shot we were bowling on, the physiX played pretty much like my lock.  if I could alter the surface to match, I think the overall boards would be within a board.  if you have a lock, probably not different enough to warrant a physiX; but it did roll nice.

the Hyroad X, was smooth.  but for me struggled to turn the corner.  I may get one as I think I can set it up to be a weaker version of my IQ Tour.  but this was a demo ball, not drilled for me, and in OOB surface.  Could be different if it was drilled for me and not a generic drilling.

Probably an arrow and a half on the backend.

I was thinking about this as well except I had a T-Road Solid. Have to say, watching my staffer friend throw his yesterday, it looked like an upgraded T-Road Solid. He left his at box and I had my T-Road Solid shiny for a bit. They had the same traits.

Got to throw both today, and all I can say is wow. The Hy-Road X is a Hy-Road, so of course, it's good, longer than I was expecting with more angle, I'll probably sand mine to 4000, and the PhysiX is very NRG dominant, which I think is good, considering how gimmicky the core looks, it is definitely strong but seems versatile with different hand positions but then again every ball is if you know what you're doing.
