Spit Fire or T-Struck Pearl
« on: January 10, 2007, 07:10:53 AM »
Currently, I'm looking for a ball that will go a little longer than my Agent, but with a similar look on the back end.  My Agent is pretty angular on the back especially considering I'm using very little tilt on the ball.  I attemtped this with a T-Struck Solid, but the length is too similar.

I'm looking at a Spit Fire or a Thunderstruck Pearl.  I really am not a big fan of the Fired Up for the type of release I like to use.  (More up the back, less tilt)  My Tsunami and Epic Saga grab the lane too soon, especially if the heads are fried.  I would attempt to move way left and hook it, but I hurt my wrist earlier this year and I just make it worse when I try to hook it.  I'm leaning towards the Spit Fire, possibly with slightly above OOB polish to get the length I'm looking for.  I'm just wondering if anyone here has used Agent / Spit Fire or Agent / T-Struck Pearl as complements and how it works out for them.

Hmm that is a good question...  I wondering if the Spit Fire is a good idea if you don't like the Fired Up?  Maybe someone here has used these balls and can chime in?

Let me clarify, I like the Fired Up when the heads are complete toast without too much carrydown because it's the only ball that gets down the lane for me (alot has to do with the 4.5" pin to CG).  The problem is that it's pretty condition specific and is designed for more of an inside line than I like to play.  Couple that with the fact that there's too much of a gap between the Agent and the Fired Up, which is why I'm looking at the Spit Fire and the TSP.  I'm more comfortable outside or in the track area compared to deep inside.  The Spit Fire is supposed to be a little shorter, but smoother at the breakpoint compared to the Fired Up, so that's why I'm leaning that way.

I've already made the decision to go with the Spit Fire, so I hope it works out OK.

I think you will like the Spit Fire it has more of an arching motion as compared to the Fired Up. By inverting the weight block the core shape is not changed drastically like the Fired Up when you drill it.

I love mine, shot 300 second game out of the box.
