Attitude Shift cover
« on: May 16, 2008, 07:14:28 AM »
I recently bought a NIB Attitude Shift from Ebay. It is a pro CG. Specs are fine for a righty, but I noticed that the cover had gold paint specks that look like they come from the engraving. I called the company who I bought the ball from and they told me that they had the same problem with a lot of Attitudes and when they called Storm, they was informed that it wouldn't be a problem with reaction. I called Storm myself and was told this:

 "Thank you for the e-mail,
I think I talked to you on the phone about this ball. The specs should come off with a ball cleaner and they should not be any problem or hinder the performance of the ball. I told you that if the ball was a second then it would be marked with a C or a B or a X , below the serial number."

I tried acetone, and the specs wouldn't come off. Has anybody encountered this with their Attitude Shifts?

So it proves that pro cg and pro pin are blems, not as one company VP claimed that did runs of these balls and they were considered firsts.

I knew it was just marketing BS and this response proves it.

We've had several with the specs and they all came off just fine with cleaner and a ball spinner.

"if the ball was a second then it would be marked with a C or a B or a X , below the serial number".

I must add, there was no marking (C,B,X) under the serial number on this ball.

Then it is a first and you have claim but honestly specks are not going to change the roll, if i had sent back every ball with specks or air bubbles it would have been over 30 balls.

My Attitude Shift had the same gold flecks on the cover. After a few games they were gone so they should come off.

Thanks Sam. I got a very good deal on this ball and am looking forward to having it drilled along with my Gravity!

Same.  Seemed to be sloppy finishing work at manufacturing.  It did not effect the  roll and after about 3-6 games and regular cleaning it is long gone.

Annoying - yes - but not a big negative for the ball.

Same here. Cleaned most off with ball cleaner. After a couple games and further cleaning all the specks are off.

My mom's Attitude Shift likewise had the gold flecks.  They don't affect anything and most, if not all, have come off with just regular use and cleaning.  If you're that bothered by them, use a 2000 pad to resurface the ball lightly.

Mine was the same. No problems with it since, oh...besides the bridge cracking on me.

I own a Gravity and it's just the nature of a metallic to get on stuff, i.e. the lettering filler. It's like buying a greeting card with "shiny" details, it ends up on your hands and every where else.

I had the same problem with mine and pretty much as everybody said, they will come off with use, and cleaning.  Most of mine actually came off with the pads in the storm cleaning kit.
