Virtual Gravity and Hy-Road Review
« on: October 28, 2008, 02:39:07 PM »
I had the chance to throw both pieces tonight in league and here are my thoughts.

I bowled on the Scorpion pattern on a pretty slick surface.  In practice I tried an Attitude Shift, T-Road Solid and Dimension before trying my Virtual Gravity.  Since it was the first time I threw it I wanted to make sure I knew what my other pieces did first.

After getting lined up with the Dimension I used the Virtual in the same spot and it hooked a TON.  I ended up using the Virtual and was 5 left of the Dimension.  I continued moving left as the night went on and ended up 15 left of where I started and the ball never quit.  I shot 680 and am really impressed with this ball.

After league I practiced on a different pair (still Scorpion pattern) and was comparing the Virtual to the Attitude, Gravity, T-Road Solid, Dimension and Hy-Road (I'll get to that one shortly).  The Virtual was still 5 more than the Dimension and I was playing 25 at the arrows as they got pretty burned up.  The Virtual always continued through the pins.  The angle it creates is amazing for how aggressive this ball is.

Hy-Road:

I had trouble getting this one to read on the fresh so I waited to use it after on the burn.  I was about 7 right of the T-Road Solid (I didn't have my T-road pearl) and had a really good look.  This ball cleared the heads with ease and made a nice smooth reaction down lane similar to the TR-Solid.  I think I will order another one as this one came with about a one inch pin, it is almost pin in.  I would like one 3-4 out to compliment the T-Road pearl.  It rolled really well and I have a feeling this may be one of the most versatile balls Storm has ever produced.  I think it will get use on all types of patterns.

I drilled the virtual pin above my middle finger which is about 5 3/4 from my pap, no hole.  I have a Dimension drilled pin down and it hooks too much, so I can only imagine what this would do pin down for me.

Hy-Road is drilled pin under my bridge (5 1/2 from pap) and the cg is kicked out at 45 degrees, but as I mentioned it is only about an inch out.  High hole close to my pap.

I look forward to using both pieces as they are as good as advertised.
