Proton Physxi Review
« on: November 22, 2020, 05:51:00 AM »
I was pretty excited about this release as I had previous success with the original Physix. This iteration of the Physix line combines the Atomic core with the brand new NeX coverstock.
We see tons of overall shape and boards crossed with the Proton PhysiX. If you're looking for an asymmetrical hook monster this will be the ball to get your hands on. Comparable to the original Physix this ball will be much sooner and overall and is designed for those upper medium to higher volume patterns.

You want the strongest ball in heavy oil? Look np further than the Proton Physix. This ball not only smells great, but also cut through the oil and has a strong backend motion. The Proton offers the NEX cover and the new Atomic core at 2.48 .053 with PSA of .017. This ball is comparable to the Gravity Evolve just stonger downlane, but still hooks in the heavy stuff. The NEX cover is also offered on the Axiom. This is a much stronger Axiom or an earlier Astro.

Layout: 80 x 4.5 x 80 (pin down, under fingers)
Review: This is a VERY strong ball! It reminds me of a UFO but a little earlier and more rounded/smoother. It was also more continuous on the backend than my Omega Crux which goes more forward off the end of the pattern.  I was able to throw it on 4 different oil patterns ranging from 39’ to 43’ feet in length with the factory 2000 grit finish, 3000 and 4000 grit finishes.  I had to keep the speed up with this ball or it would really grab and want to hook early. This will be a great ball for high speed players and players with a lower rev rate that can’t get a ball to hook up on longer/slicker conditions but like to play up the track area. High rev players will need plenty of oil and low speed players will need way less surface or even some polish.  I can see this ball working really well on challenge/sport shots or “cliffed” lanes because it doesn’t boomerang on the backend which helps keep you in the pocket and doesn’t leave you ugly splits from steep angles. Although it hooks a ton, it is very easy to throw and a ton of high scores are being shot with this ball. This ball fits at the high end of the hook scale with the Omega Crux or UFO (big oil balls).
