I've found the BHP to be a better ball for dry lanes.  It's weaker than the Tropical.  The Tropical can hook for me on medium conditions.  I throw maybe 13-14 mph and can get the Tropical to turn and finish better than the BHP.

I hope this helps a little

it does, i'm looking to drill somthing for a drier shot, we have ton of tropicals in the shop, but looking at cores, i figured the big hit would be less, just wasn't sure how much less, thank you!

The differences in the two cores is minimal...the main difference between the two will be the coverstock.  The tropical utilizes a much stronger coverstock and since it's one of the major contributors to ball reaction the Tropical will hook more by nature.

I use a big hit for my dry lane ball and it has helped me numerous times when the lanes are dryer. It really carries suprisingly well. Goof is right on with his assessment about the coverstock. Storm claimed it was their mildest cover when the ball first came out.
