VG and VE coverstock durability

Are there any known issues with the coverstocks on either of these two balls (especially the VG). Are these more prone to wearing out fairly quickly or are they durable? I have not used any Storm products for a long time and was interested in one of these but my experience in the past is more aggressive=not long lasting. Any opinions?

ive heard of some people say their VG died very fast and others say they never had a problem.

I think its more personal experience. for instance my pro shop operator says that he gets an amazing reaction from balls in their OOB state and no matter what he tries he cant make it hook like it did OOB. yet for me I almost never match up to balls OOB and have only experienced ball death once and was able to bring the ball back.

As has been said many times before, you will get out of them what you put into them.  In other words: MAINTENANCE!!!  Clean them after every use and keep at them with Ab pads to make sure they stay at whatever surface you want them at.

I have one VG that was one of my originals and has at least a couple hundred games on it and still is going strong.

To second what Jeff said, it's all about taking care of your equipment. I've never had any loss of ball reaction with either ball, but I clean after every session. It's the OCD in me.

I had a customer bring in his VG to me swearing to me his ball was done. He only had it for 4 months or so. I asked when was the last time he had it cleaned, and of course the answer was never. Put it in the Revivor oven to extract the oil and then took it the spinner with some abralon pads and cleaner, and it was like a new ball for him.

Just take care of your stuff and it won't quit on you.

i only use my VG bout 20 games or so... just do to fact it didnt work for. played with the cover atleast 6 or more times, found 1000gt with polish worked the best. used it most of this summer. touched the cover up n put some polish back on, i wish i woulda just left it the way it was.... it DOES NOT react the same.... its also lost its orange/mint smell

i dont think the cover lasts that long fyi

I hit mine lightly with a 1000 pad and reacta shine and never lost its smell. with this finish ball skids more and is a little angular.
