Well, I punched up the ball. I was able to use the layout I had planned on, 5" pin to PAP, around a 1.5" pin buffer, which puts the pin high above the ring finger, CG is kicked a little. It WILL need a small x-hole to bring it to legal static weight, but my ball driller had me roll it first to see if we needed to tweak the reaction any. I also went ahead and knocked off the polish -- sanded it with 500 abralon, then straight to 4000, and applied just a little Snake Oil by hand afterward.
The lanes I got a chance to test it on tonight were extremely dry. I rolled my plastic ball up the line I normally use on a fresh house shot there with a Second Dimension... and went through the nose. Extremely dry. With the Reign, I was able to move as deep as 4th arrow, even with my very modest rev rate, and still kick out the corners pretty consistently. Very, very clean in the heads and midlane compared to any other ball in my bag, and very very strong on the backends. It is, indeed, the successor to the Fired Up and even the old Fire Storm.
