R3S and R4S
« on: January 31, 2017, 04:07:27 PM »
I wonder why we are not seeing more R3S and R4S coverstock balls. They still are in love with R2S and I can't say I don't blame them. Seems like R3S and R4S just went to the side though.

I haven't thrown the Lock personally, but by watching others use it, I can't say I'm star struck. It's seemed very ehh pass on this one, but to each their own. I'm sure there are tons of people that have had great success with it.

That's the way I feel.  Mine was ok... nothing special.

In terms of solids, I hear great things about the Scandal, the Motiv Ghost and LE, Columbia Tyrant, and the No Rules. Those are the hottest solids out there right now.  I see the No Rules everywhere....

I think the No Rules is a POS fo most people after 20 games even with maintenance from what I've seen. They start going super long and only roll well as a ball down.

I agree! I tried one ata demo day and hated it.  But wow some people love them..... but it's usually they hate them until 20 games are on it (which is apparently when they start to die).

I'm sure people think I'm joking, but it really does go a lot longer than it's supposed to at that point. An amazing ball when first drilled, but just okay after that. Talked to many college bowlers and tournament players about it. At least 4 feet of length added with less traction in oil. Don't tell me there isn't enough oil for it because we see over 30 mL at times. Sometimes a ball is just overhyped.

Not buying it, if it's 20 games of Lane shine, not hitting with abralon every 3-6 games I'm not buying it. If this ball was lasting 20 games there would be MASSIVE OUTCRY, given how many people have this ball.

I bowled in college and I'll be the first to say I had no idea what I was talking about back then. A lot of college players start at 4th arrow and want to circle everything. Not the source I'd trust for claiming the No Rules dies in 20 games.

In the very wet dry house i bowl in the Reign of Fire seems quit popular at almost 8 years or so since release.

I sort of liked my Reign of Power except for it's stronger cover and my son Likes his Reign Supreme...big reaction for him!

Storm's 1500-grit polished is not consistent ball to ball.  The Fire Road's surface definitely had a thicker coat of polish on it than say the Code Black.

I had inconsistent results with the Fire Road.  I had a few big games with it and some not so great games.  It was a ball I could go direct with a lot of speed when the lanes were fried and wanted a big down lane move.

Yeah, sounds like a load of crap to me. I've seen the No Rules thrown by multiple people and I do not see that. Probably poor maintenance or people playing the wrong line. I only have the NRP, so I can't give my own personal experience though.

Not any of the cases mentiones above, but I see it has become more of a personal attack fest at this point. Could have been the first batch or something, but that is what I've seen while used properly and with good maintenance. Abralon consistently three games max with cleaner on the spinner.
