Instead of saying "go get a new driller", here's what that is:
With the pin on or near your VAL, you're going to get very little backend and a very early roll, depending on how far up the VAL that pin is. With the CG swung way in, it weakens the backend even more. Hence the reason you see the lack of reaction down the lane. Unfortunately, there is no way to make it do anything else until you plug it. You can play tight, and maybe up the oil line. DO NOT try to swing the ball unless you have major friction. You can attempt to play with surface, but you will still see the same general characteristics.
I would be severely angry at that driller. That is a standard label drill for a customer of which the driller knows no PAP or anything, (usually) unless you requested that, which i doubt.
My rapid fire is great, far from weak on the backend (pin under bridge, CG 45 degrees, small x-hole down VAL). SO it is not at all a dead ball, just 'killed' in that layout.
