Question on a T-Road arsenal
« on: April 23, 2009, 05:01:13 PM »
I have a T-Road Pearl, and it is hands down my favorite ball in the bag.  I love it's predictability, the smooth and continuous arc it makes to the pocket, and it's ability to find the pocket even when I miss my target by several boards.

Although I have equipment from many companies (see my arsenal below, plus a Lane #1 Agent Orange coming tomorrow), I have always been happiest throwing the TRP.  I am thinking about selling all of my other balls (14 lbs) and going with an exclusive Thunder line-up:  T-Road Solid, Hy-Road, T-Road Pearl.  My question for Storm fans is this:  what ball would I use for light to medium?  What would I use when the lanes are drying up that has a similar core/cover/reaction?

I see the new Fast has the same R2S coverstock.  Or is the Tropical Storm the right option?

As always, thanks for the advice.

Why not a T-Road pearl with a longer Pin to PAP distance if you like the TRP reaction so much?  There's no rule saying you can't have more than one of the same ball drilled different

I like the T-Road Pearl with a different layout option... something I never considered.  The Natural is also intriguing, although I've never tried the lightbulb core before.

Maybe I can sell off my non-Storm equipment and pick up some new stuff.

I have a T-Road arsenal: Solid & Pearl. Solid has a 2.5" pin while the pearl has a 3.5" pin. Both are drilled stacked leverage. I'm a tweener who likes to play up the boards and both these balls fit the bill. The pearl is awesome once the lanes break down. It allows me to open up a little bit and play off the bump area. The solid can be a little tame, but serves it's purpose.

I'm thinking about getting a HyRoad and try a different drill pattern just to see what it'll do. But for now my other T-Roads are doing great and I wouldn't change em for anything else.

I'm also waiting for the Natural. Right now I have a Big B Groove Urethane that I use as a multi-purpose dry lane & spare ball. Once I get the Natural, I'll retire the Groove and have an all Storm 3-ball arsenal.

After that, I might consider getting a HyRoad and & Ice Storm to round everything out.

This really does seem like a good fit for me.  I'd want the HyRoad for sure, as it seems like the benchmark ball of the set.

Maybe if I sell everything else off (except my plastic spare ball) I could afford to make the switch over relatively easy.
