I've got an X-Factor Ace that should be on my doorstep in a mtter of hours(ty, jkiser) and was wondering how to punch her out. Let me add that I bowl on a THS with pretty fresh backends and minimal carrydown. We're spolied up here at our home centers. The shot isn't exactly a wall, but it's very consistent. 70 units 15-15, tapering down to around single digits outside of first arrow. Oiled to 36' with a light buff to 42'. Moderately clean backends. Fresh AMFlites. In other words, not far from ideal. Ball speed is generally in the mid 17's, 425-450 RPM, with about a 45 degree axis tilt. Currently, I've got two "goto balls", either a Blueberry C/2(1:30) or a Bully(4x4), with an AMF Titan when I'm feeling the need to exercise my right to tear the cover off the ball. That's kinda what I'm looking to do with this Ace. A ball that will open up my THS and create some serious entry angles, lessening the increasing corners that have showed their heads as the weather cools off. Now, if I happen to overlap some of the other equipment, sobeit. That's why God made places like this. So that idiot bowlers can orphan equipment that they're averaging nearly 240 with, and expect someone else to fit the bill for the new "Second Coming" that they've purchased. Ok, I digress. I was snooping on the Storm website and I think I like the #2(a-b) layout, with the fourth hole somewhere around an inch to the left of my PAL, giving the drilling a 4 1/2 x 3 1/2 look. A drilling that will create a genereous amount of OVERALL hook to the lane. Let me add that I can move left and slow down or right and tighten the line if I need to. Ideally, somewhere over third arrow to around 5-ish with earth-shattering high flush shots, time after time.
So, to those who've had some success with similar players with similar drillings, am I in the right part of town, or has someone got a better idea?
