Storm Nation,

Need some help here. I just recently won a Wild Thing on Ebay, then turned around and won a Hyroad today. My question is are these two comparable, and if so how?

Ball Finish: 1500-grit Polish
RG Differential: .058 (Medium-High) on a scale of .000-.080 Low Flare-High Flare
RG Average: 2.52 (Medium-Low) on a scale of 2.43-2.80 Very Low-High Break Point
Flare Potential: 5"-6" (Medium-High)
With a hybrid pearl/solid coverstock.

Wild Thing:
RG max: 2.514
RG min: 2.469
RG diff: 0.045
Average RG: 2.6 of 10
Hook Potential: 160 (Scale 10-175)
Length: 110 (Scale 25-235)
Typical Breakpoint Shape: 95 Angular (Scale Smooth Arc 10-Angular 100)
Flare Potential: 0.045 High (Scale Low 0.00-High 0.060)
Hardness: 76-78
Factory Finish: 4,000 Micro pad
Coverstock Pearl Reactive

These IMO would compliment each other with the right drilling and surface prep. Drill the Hyroad to be the weaker ball with the current surface and the Wild Thing with a stronger layout and bring the surface to 2000 abralon very little if any polish. This is how I would set up these 2.

I had both.. The Wild Thing was drilled pin under the hyroad was drilled weaker. I got more out of the hyroad and it carried worlds better. The Wild thing was another sensitive cover. I never matched up well with the Conxetion cover.. I tried all of the wild series. hit or miss and very inconsistent for me. Some have tried the wild thing and loved it, in my hand it was a turd.. just depends on what look you are going for and your rev rate is a big variable with the wild thing. I would sell the wild thing, and drill up the hyroad, that was my go to ball at the time!
