Original old X factor!
« on: November 24, 2004, 09:42:48 PM »
The house I bowl in often is just frankly tricky on the left!

Rock hard anvilanes so to keep it being too slick for the righties since they feel they have to run to 40 feet they put down real light oil volumes.  And I think even less on left.

Much of today's new equipment is well Frankly a little jumpy on the left!

I watched one of our top bowlers there struggling on the left on and off for about 10 weeks.

XXX factor would have sets like 258, 158, 188.  You know!  Jumpy!
Then he had a Super charge but too much surface.  Also he had to throw hard to keep on line!  These balls wanted to check up in midlane.
Then for a while he had a recharge and that too was jumpy at the break with inconsistent results.

All of a sudden I see him wiht a new ball and that sucker is just floating cleanly down the lane and floating in to the pocket!  No extra movements, no appearance of bit or jump.  Float dive strike!

The week before I had seen a righty with a similar reaction who was very slow speed.  I asked him what ball he said!  Original old X factor.

ASked above lefty who is now going more like this  238 231 255 type of series and he said "Yep that is old X factor!"  I said"SMOOOTH!"

He said part of it is the drilling with pin above bridge is giving me more float down the lane!
