Reign of Fire or Mutant Cell?
« on: February 27, 2010, 06:40:45 AM »
I need to replace my Attitude Shift, and I'm stuck between these two. Which one do you think would be better for a bowler with 17-19 MPH ball speed and 468 RPM's?

That is really a toss up. The Reign is going to give you a little more of an arc reaction and a little more overall while the Mutant is going to give you a lot of pop of the spot but still fairly controlled.

Very interesting.  Let us know what you do & how it works out.  I have an Attitude w/a big ole chunk taken out of it by the ball return as it came up onto the rack.  The house mgr. wouldn't do nothing...  I protested by not drinking their beers for the better part of a year & a 1/2... smuggled in my own, LoL.

I had both... the mutant cell is what I would replace it with unless you are looking for an early look like the attitude gave you. The mutant is strong through out the spectrum.. just make sure to keep it clean and bathe it every 30-50 games..

Hmm..Lets see what I have in this bag..A radiated C-System 3.5,an Invasion, a bright red Mission, a Motiv Qz1 Fire ball, and a green Avalanche.. how can I lose....

I have both. IMO get the ROF, more bang for the buck. I don't think you can go wrong with either one, but I wouldn't drill them too strong if you have a decent amount of revs, especially the Mutant.

According to my local pro shop operator (posts here on occasion), the mutant cell is somewhat prone to ball death b/c it is such a soaker. Whereas the ROF has such a thick coverstock that it can stand to soak alot of oil and keep working.

The Mutant did have ball death... thats until you bake or hot water bath it that is. The ROF would probably be the same way, as the invasion soaks up a ton as well.
