Reign of Fire review
« on: January 22, 2010, 09:03:11 AM »
Here is a small reign of fire review.  I didnt lay it out based on any angles or anything cause basically have been kinda of struggling with alot of over under with all my equipment.  This ball I decided to keep the pin about 1/2in outside of the fingers and about a 1/2 slightly above to get closer to my pap.  Its probably around 3.5 to pap and cg swung out a couple inches, and about a 1in hole down low about 3in deep.  I left the cover alone cause you all know that Storm covers are very adjustable to acquire what you want.
Anyhow threw it last night on a 2nd shift shot that is around 39 ft, mostly straight bowlers on the first shift so you can imagine the carrydown you encounter.  This is by far the best reaction out of Storm equipment that I have gotten since being on staff for a year.  For 1000 abralon it gets through the heads like a champ and there was no sign of squirt downlane at all.  The backend pop from this ball with that surface made me wonder what a 2nd one with a little weaker drill would do.  Well I ended up going 790 out of the box with it leaving a couple 9 pins behind.  Very pleased with that considering the way I have been bowling lately.
Me personally think that this ball is not only a replacement for a T-road solid, but possibly a midpriced ball that someone could put in their bags to handle a little more oil than you think.  The power of the Cam core is simply stunning and with a pearl next to it, you could have a nice 1-2 punch.

Yea it's me. Doing good. I'm planning on bowling the Cheyenne Masters, so see you there.

I did not know you were on staff. Pretty good company to be with these days. About as good of overall reactions as any company. I can't imagine you using a VG or the Invasion, the lane is not wide enough.

Yeah I got on last year about this time,  was with hammer for a short bit,  and things werent working out the way I wanted, so here I am now.  At any rate, Storm does have quite the variety of equipment which is nice for anything you encounter but im still getting down a few drill patterns that will all match up for me.  Just been kinda figuring out that I need to get my Pin to pap distances a little closer than hammers equipment so I can still get good midlane read, and kind of smooth out the reaction without losing the energy.
