I have been wanting to try Storm equipment for quite some time.  I was throwing pre-ebo track and then 900 Global/AMF300 and a little bit of Radical.  I am really interested in their lower end stuff as I don't bowl tournaments anymore.  I'm looking for suggestions.  I know the Hy-Road has been out on the market for like 5 years or something crazy like that.  Basically its nice to see something staying out more than 3 months.  I'm thinking of picking up multiples of that ball.  Possibly a Frantic, Hybrid Tropical as well as a pearl tropical.  I think with these, I should be able to handle anything.  I know coverstock preparation is key.  Anything else I could look at in Storm's line?  Am i missing something in this arsenal?

While you may not bowling in tournaments, I think dropping either of the Tropicals for a Breeze might give you a better top to bottom variety in reaction...

I would say the Hy-Road is one of the best benchmark balls that you can buy.  Great cover/core combo with R2S Hybrid and the Inverted Fe2 Core, and it's versatile on medium and some medium-heavy patterns.  Definitely a great house shot and tournament ball.

From there, I would go with the Frantic.  Same cover as the Hy-Road, and the N.O.S. Core packs a lot of punch for a lower end ball.  It's great when the heads start to go and I find myself using these two balls more and more lately with great success in multiple houses.  Both the Hy-Road and Frantic are great balls for the money.

From there, I would probably look at a pearl Tropical Heat, and then go down to the Tropical Breeze when the lanes are a desert.  The pearl Tropical Heat won't have as much overall hook as the Frantic and will be better than the Frantic when the lanes really start to blow apart.  Then, the Breeze comes in if you need a super mild reactive.

With a Hy-Road, Tropical Heat Hybrid, and a Tropical Breeze, you would likely cover the majority of conditions.
If you were picking up 4, you could add a Tropical Heat Pearl to get a proper complimentary reaction to the Hybrid when you need a stepdown.  The Breeze is really for very light conditions and unless you have lots of hand, is mostly an "emergency" extreme dry ball.

The Inverted Fe2 core and Turbine core are in my opinion 2 of the best cores Storm has ever made because they are extremely versatile and match up to so many bowlers' games.

i think the hyroad will provide more than enough traction in most houses across the country if you take the polish off the OOB surface. i would go hyroad (fairly strong drill with surface) frantic, fringe (or the new freakn frantic remake/name change), breeze which could also double as a spare ball

Thank you everyone for the suggestions.  What I initially thought was a good set up to start.  I don't need anything stronger than the Hy-Road.  The Hy-Road would be able to handle the amount of conditioner I'm seeing.  That's why I was going to go with two.  The Frantic, Tropical Heat Hybrid, and Tropical Pearl.  This should be more than enough with what I see or don't see.

I have seen a lot of good balls listed above.

Last night in a good session for me I reminded myself how great a ball my Tropical Heat Indigo/Violet Solid is!

See videos on You tube for Storm/Medium Light Oil.

This ball has the Reactor Solid on the Turbine Core (.038) flare potential.

On my sparky wet dry pattern it loves as the shot lengthens in to the buff zone.
Standing 29 yesterday after leagues throwing 14-15 at the arrows the pocket was mine to have.

We calculated I threw I believe 20 straight flushers with only a few 9 pins and a maybe 4 - 7 pins.  This ball with thiis extreme wet dry crown gives me more area and carry some days than any ball I have seen on this shorter sparky top hat.

Sometimes it really carrys better than the above.

It is 1500 and polished out of the box and I may change to 2000 and polish for easier push!
In comparison to pearls and hybrids on this condition it is so smooth strong and readable!  While they are sparky and super sparky!

If it can't be found the Strom Furious(same core and R2S) coverstock can be found and the Rotogrip Shooting Star are very close!

IF the oil is longer a little duller surface or the slightly stronger cored Storm Manic are probably great!
