Reign Review
« on: September 17, 2009, 08:04:16 AM »
From Staffer Derek Eoff

5 1/2 pin to PAP, pin is under bridge with CG kicked about 50 degrees to the right with a small hole on axis.

I have had the opportunity to use this ball on a variety of patterns from Chameleon, Shark and a fresh and burnt house shot.

The only pattern it was not really suited for was the Shark.  There was just a bit too much oil for it and the Virtual Gravity and Energy were much better options.

My first reaction to seeing this ball go down the lane was that it is close to the T-Road pearl.  I loved the T-Road pearl and I think the Reign has a similar ball motion and for me is actually a little more skid/flippy than the T-Road pearl.

I could use this ball on the burnt house pattern as it actually got better  when I needed to create more angle.  If I were to use this on something slick or a tight surface I would definitely use 1000 abralon.  I have currently left it at the box finish as I like that it gives me something different than my Hyroads, VE and Fast.

My Hyroad is definitely stronger than the Reign.  On the Chameleon (I like to compare equipment on this pattern) I was 4 left with the Hyroad and another 2 left with the VE.  Since my T-Road pearl has about a billion games on it, the Reign will be a great replacement for that ball.

Thanks,
Derek

would this be a good replacement for a toxic? or hex-plostion.

Have the VG pin up, VE pin down, already.

the toxic i use when the VE is too much (can't get rid of corners) and the Hex i use when all nothing works (thru a 300 with it).
