Why don''t the manufacturers give us advanced warning that a ball is going to be discontinued so that we can buy a couple and stash them for future use?
Sh!t, I just had my Rapid Fire solid crack on me and, because it''s discontinued, I can''t buy the same ball as a replacement. It''s a crying shame. That really was SOME ball!
Anyone any idea which ball I could possibly replace it with?

I had a look around the on line pro shops and yes, I can find it but the shipping (I live in France) is more expensive than the price of the ball (for those that will ship overseas).
I was thinking that perhaps a Storm Furious or a RotoGrip Nomad solid might do the job?

the furious using turbine core n rapid fire solid uses the v-twin core(cant remember the exact name)
could be a good choice....
but on a side note...i love the rapid fire solid

Closest ball on the market to the Rapid Fire is a Nomad Solid. I'd argue you will have a hard time telling the difference.
I agree with your original comment that it would be better if the manufacturers gave us some advanced warning when a ball is being discontinued. I can't see the down side to that since they discontinue balls based on lagging sales. Wouldn't an announcement of impending discontinuance create a short burst of sales for those people who really like a particular ball (buy and stash purchase)?

I'd recommend the Nomad solid, too.
The simple answer to your other question is when you love a particular ball THAT MUCH is to buy an extra one while they are current. You don't need to drill it right away, just save it until your favorite wears out. The other advantage to getting them while they are current is that you might be able to get the same pin distance, etc, as your favorite.

If there was a solid version of the Reign I'd suggest that. But since there's not, I'd have to give another vote to the Nomad Solid.
