Replacement for Original Eraser
« on: November 02, 2004, 10:49:57 AM »
I have a friend that has an original Eraser and loves the ball. He's had it for over 2 years now and he wants to replace it with another Eraser or an equivalent Storm ball.  He wants the same reaction that he gets from the Eraser.  I know the original is discontinued and have completed some searching to find one with little success.  Can the Storm guys on here recommend a replacement that will give the same length and a similar look (arc flip etc.)? I was thinking the original X-Factor since the covers are the same but not sure if there is a big difference in length or shape.  Thanks for the assistance.

The closest current ball to the original Eraser would be the Eraser Particle Pearl (EPP).
They have the same core but with different covers.
Eraser : ACCU-Tread Pearl Reactive
EPP: PRO-Thaneâ„¢ LT Pearl Particle (which is a low paricle load ACCU-Tread Pearl Reactive)

IMHO an EPP with a 2000 grit wet sand and then Storm Step 3 or Box with some Storm Extra Shine would be nearly identical to the Original.

I don't think that any of the Flash cored balls would be as close, due to significantly different core characteristics. The Original Eraser core was more of a flip/strong arc type reaction while all the Flash cored ball I have seen have been VERY smooth arcing. I actually had a Flash Point that I was hoping would be close in reaction shape to an Eraser but it wasn't even close for me.
