Cover/core matchups are a big deal. I had both the Vivid and the Sync. Obviously, both used the NRG cover. For me, the Vivid was a good ball, but it was rolly, rolly, rolly. It was smooth and consistent, but it never did anything to wow anybody. My Sync, on the other hand, is fantastic. It gives a good read of the midlane, and it's smooth and strong on the backend. Obviously, in my case, the cover/core matchup on the Sync worked better in my hands than the matchup on the Vivid.
If you liked NRG on the Nano and love the core of the IQ Tour series, there's at least some logic behind thinking that you'll like the two when paired together. Now, there are certainly no guarantees, but if you need a ball, it may be worth taking the plunge.
