The Rocketship, so what ended up being the overall reception on this ball, now that it's been out for awhile?

The Rocket Ship for me is easily 6 more than my IQ Tour. With the added Diff, you're getting more flare and more potential. Mine has stayed in the bag lately because the lane conditions have played drier and once I get deeper in and start targeting inside of 3rd, I can't get the ball to slow down enough to kick the corner out. Overall I'm extremely impressed. However, I feel like this will be one of those balls that are underrated so it'll go by the waste side. Overall to me, this one is the best of the 3 in the Rocket line. The most versatile and usable solid outside of the IQ Tour.

Rocketship is an EXCELLENT ball. And I agree, it's at least an arrow more than the IQ tour. I have both, new, drilled the same. More motion, more flare out of the RS.

It's a ball a lot of the better bowlers in my area have. Meanwhile you see donkeys show up with a Lock, No Rules, Alpha Crux and a spare ball but that's another conversation.

No ball down, just ball across there!

Got a guy in one of my leagues that does that. Just has all the strongest equipment.

He resorts to loft and speed then but still tries to throw it up the 10 board all night lol.

Will his nose bleed if he moves his feet? Or is that "his line"?

This makes me hate.

Haha, I think he makes a 1-1 move.. Adds a mph and 5 feet of loft and plays his "new line" the rest the night out. Throws a Scandal..Paradox.. Other strong equipment.

I know it's the en vogue thing to knock people that use strong balls on house shots, but I use that strategy often. Pin down strong solid sym to start followed by balling UP to a pin up strong solid asym is very effective when you have high ball speed on a 42' overblock. The outsides get over under fast, and strong covers provide me the midlane I need to carry the 10 as I move further and further into the oil. The weakest ball I typically bring is a medium sym Pearl with a strong drill, in case the midlane gets totally fried by the end of my second shift league. But generally, i have my best results venturing further and further left with strong equipment.

Point is, keep in mind that there are plenty of bowlers that can benefit from strong balls on a house shot. I stifled myself for awhile trying to not be "that guy". Turned out, being "that guy" works for me. Different balls work for different styles.

The RS is definitely a great value at that price point.  The OOB surface was too much for me so I hit it with polish and then a 4000 pad.  Better length but still a great mid-lane read.  I was looking for a replacement for my Disturbed (same surface changes) and have finally found it.  A little different shape.  The RS core stores a little better than the Disturbed core and finishes stronger for me.

Using strong balls on a this, I understand. Not chasing it in or balling down, I don't.

The issue isn't using strong balls, I use a Haywire at 1000 in a notoriously dry house. I do this to get the ball to slow down properly, not "hook". My issue is the guy who has 3 balls that do the same damn thing.

Not criticizing your particular style, because clearly its you being you! but I would hate to have to bowl on the same pair with you, since I'd not only be changing lines constantly, I'd be changing balls multiple times as well!

Then youre not bowling on traditional house. The build up of oil in the middle requires very little moving with your feet and very little, if any, multiple ball changes.
