Screamin Banshee ...Interesting?
« on: February 23, 2006, 01:04:13 AM »
Saw a local slow poke shoot a real sweet 72X with this ball teh other night.

Pin under ring...cg out slightly and a reving low weighthole.  He had so much push and a good strong backend...every touch on the headpin smashed em!  This on a fairly early rollin drilling!

Now I have a Flash Force and I don't get this type of push on the left!!!
It's either that problem oil pattern I've blathered on over and over about...or his lower track or this is just a great coverstock....I'd seen it on a Hot Rod Super Sport and thought it was too much for our local shot.....my league is a different night.

My wonderment.

Is it different pattern on right?
His lower roll...?
OR this reactor stuff???

Hmmmmmm?  Any ideas from those who really know this coverstock versus Typhoon???

Reactor is less tamer off the break than monsoon, but it reads oil better.  Think of it as Reactor is to Activator as Monsoon is to Powerkoil 18.  That's a fair comparison I think.

BTW, the Screamin Banshee is the latest 900 ball

I think you mean Reactor is to Monsoon as Activator is to PK18.

from what I've read Typhoon is stronger than Accu-tread not as strong as Monsoon, Reactor is stronger than Monsoon, by definition.

LuckyLefty,

My wife is about to replace her Force with a Screamin.  From what I have seen the two balls roll almost identical with a bit more of a skid / snap reaction from the Screamin.  Since she throws really hard (avg. 18mph at the deck) I am expecting very little difference in overall ball reaction for her.

It is my guess that the slower speed bowler / early roll drill / you saw is probably giving the ball more of a chance to react than you would normally see.  You will get slightly stronger backend and hit with the Screamin (100% based on Reactor vs. Typhoon) IMO, but not much.
