T-Road Solid = WOW
« on: August 24, 2007, 08:37:58 AM »
Just drilled up the T-Road Solid, my PAP is 5 over 1/2 up.  Drilled it 5 x 4 pin under the ring with a small weight hole about 4 1/2 over to bring from 1 oz. side to 1/2 oz side.  When looking at Storm's reaction charts on their site and seeing that they said the Paradigm was stronger than this ball on med-heavy conditions I second guessed getting it, but I can't believe how much this ball turns the corner.  I threw it on a very carried down shot since the house doesn't strip and reoil unless a league is coming in, and the ball acted like the backends were fresh.  I could play in deep, I could move right and play straight up, and the ball finished and carried like a tank...I went away from storm because I wanted to get away from the skip/snap ball reactions they were known for, but this ball reminded me why I loved storm so much.

Glad you like the T-Road and got good results from  using it, but.

This cannot be a 5"x4" drilling: if your PAP is 5" over (from the center of the grip) and you placed the pin approx. 1" from the grip line towards the PAP, that is, under the ring finger, then the pin should be 3 3/4" to 4" from the PAP, a relatively strong and early rolling drilling.

Clarification: 5" x 4" drilling means the pin is 5" from the PAP and the CG is 4" from the PAP.

No matter how strong the Paradigm is, it is still a polished pearl resin, while the T-Road uses a 2000 dull solid R2S, a relatively strong solid. Depsite what Storm's charts says, I'd put my momey of the T-Road handling significantly more oil, UNLESS you sanded the Paradigm.

I'm not crazy about mine but it's growing on me. I haven't found anyone else who even kinda likes it though.

Great ball rolls exactly like a gamebreaker with 2 more feet of length built into it, if you look at core shapes and similar covers it is easy to see why. I have both of them at 2k no polish in fact tomorrow will be a ball test for me.

Resurgence box at 1k
T-road solid 2k box
gamebreaker 2k box
nvs 2k no polish
no mercy beat'n 4k box

Mine is extremely condition specific. I took it 4000 before I threw it, and the first time I used it was on a 40' house shot and the ball couldn't get out of it's own way. Couldn't get it to turn over downlane, couldn't get it do drive through the pins. Took it back down to box and threw it on the 39' Chamelon pattern and couldn't the ball down the lane, it wanted to hook and quit on everything in box.

The 4 others i've seen have reacted similar.

But I am finding that when I can use it it rolls great, strong midlane, smooth downlane.

I love mine and havent seen many not like theirs, cant imagine what you wouldnt like about it unless its not drilled properly. Ive had a Paradigm, Domination, Black Widow and an Angular One over the past year and the T-Road Pearl and Solid are the only balls I use now.

I don't think it matters what core they wrap the RS2 cover around its gonna move a ton.  I wish they would go back and wrap the RS2 cover around the core of the Tour Power.

I`m with Tsmith on this one! But what I have notised is that the T-roads are best suited for players with higher rev rates!! I know I love my T-roads and I will get 2 more of each!!!
IDK, i threw a t-road pearl once and loved it. I'm a low-rev player. I thought it was going to not hook at all and hig the 3 pin, and then all of a sudden, it jumped and left a ten pin because i sliced it thin, and didn't get enough of the head pin and the 6 just fell sideways.

I have a highish rev-rate and I love love love my t-road pearl but I also know guys with low rev-rates that get them to move a decent amount

T-Road Solid OOB will hook more overall, but my guess is that it'll start a little earlier.  Thunderstruck Solid will hook less, but have more backend because of the polish and coverstock.  Reactor is very skid/flippy and I usually have problems with over/under as a result.  I love the T-Road Pearl because it's versatile, has a strong backend without the over/under reaction that I had with the Agent,Spit Fire, Fired UP, Tropical Storm and Thunderstruck (Solid and Pearl).   I'd like to try a T-Road Solid, I'll just have to find somewhere in Tucson to throw it first.

OOB for me the T-Road Solid is a good arrow stronger then the Thunderstruck Solid, but it's also much eariler and smoother downlane. On fresh conditions the Thunderstruck can handle medium oil while the T-Road is more of a medium/heavy oiler. Neither are fond of carrydown though.
