Assuming the ball is NEW .. I would discuss an ACTION with the DRILLER!

Yes take it to your driller, they can throw it on the spinner and most likely take care of it for you.  If it happened while bowling let the center know as well...

I would not expect a new ball from a chip by the thumb.
