Um, why not try adjusting the coverstock like they recommended first before you just dump it off.  It's a great ball and it would be silly to get rid of it.

$50+ shipping is a fair price. It should come out to be around $65 total or so.

I would say that's fair because you have to factor in the plug + redrill.  

So since you are taking a big hit on the resale, keep it, tweak it, do whatever you have to do to not sell it.
