El Nino X-It replacement
« on: November 11, 2008, 02:50:31 AM »
hey guys,

I have a teammate that is looking to drop weights from 16 lbs to 15 lbs.  his current go to ball is an El Nino X-it so he wants to replace that ball when he buys his first 15 lbs ball.

So, what storm ball out there would provide the most similar reaction?

Thanks.

Tell your buddy to forget about the days of the EL NIÑO X-IT, that was 8 years ago and most anything you buy now days is just plain stronger. If this was his benchmark ball, I'd say get a Rapid Fire. If he's looking for a BIG oil piece then a Virtual and one drop of oil down from that ball is the Dimension.

Try a Double Agent if you can find one.

I still keep a 16# X-It in my tournament bag. It's the only 16# I still throw. For me a Special Agent was close but it went longer and had more backend - overall they covered about the same amount of boards, just a different reaction shape. The X-It has more mid lane control.

I have a Cell and I'd say it's close. I've also thrown a Brunswick Copperhead it's a little earlier than the X-It but I'd say it's an option too. I still need to throw the Cell more since it's new but I think it could make me retire my X-It.

I think the person recommending the Double Agent might be on the right track too since it has a particle load and the X-It does too. It might be hard to find one since they're discontinued.

Would it help if I told you I knew of a place that still has a NIB 15# X-it?

If you new where we could get a 15 lb X-it that would be awesome.

Any idea what the current owner (you?) would ask for it?

I tried locating a Double agent at the online retailers (bowling.com, ect) and struck out.

The cell and copperhead are interesting ideas.

Thanks all,

i will pass this info on to my guy Tonight is the league we share.
