Title: Snap Lock surface change
Post by: Metal_rules on January 07, 2017, 03:51:02 PM
I didn't like the ball reaction at all oob - so I changed it to 2k with light 4. Better but still not what I was looking for. So I tried 4k with no polish. Wow, it's like the ball came alive for me! What a difference! Bottom line is if you are not happy with your ball reaction, change the cover! It will make a difference!

I took mine in to have the same thing done. Hopefully its what Im looking for.

Edit:

Sooooo after having the shine knocked off my snap lock, it is exactly what I was looking for. Did the 4k with no polish and like what Metal_rules said, what a difference.

I am glad it worked for you! It may not work for all, if not you may need to keep adjusting it until you find what works.

I had same thing done at the pro shop with my Snap Lock, sanded to 4000 abralon and then polished. Much better, still plenty of hook and occasionally goes Brooklyn at a bit lower ball speed than my desired shot. The pro shop operator I go to, did the exact same thing with is Snap Lock as well and finds it performs much better.

I also did exactly that with my Alpha Crux too, 4000 abralon and polished.
