Spare Ball
« on: March 07, 2004, 04:21:02 AM »
Was thinking about buying a spare ball from storm, wanted to know if any of you guys had one and what you thought of it . I know its just a spare ball and all are pretty much the same . But i'm very picky with my equipment and i wanted some feed back. Any thoughts would help.

I have the Storm Spare.  It's been great for me.  I (being a righty) had a hard time picking up anything let on the right side (6,9,10).  But since getting this ball, I've had no problem getting them.  Like that other guy was saying when the lanes dirt dry it also a good strike ball, it does hit hard.

I could be wrong, but doesn't the Spare Storm have the same pancake weightblock as most all plastic balls?  Storm's site shows a simple puck on top.  It's probably just not drawn to the same scale as other manufacturer's.  Unless you go to a real core (XXXL, Amulet, Gemstone...), almost all plastic balls are close to identical.  Get one that's cheap and looks good.

If you want to stick with storm, just get one of there plastics. I have one, and I dont mean the plastic like the storm spare, but, I mean one of the plastics with no core. You can throw this thing pretty much any way and it goes straight, I CANT STAND IT! Im so used to picking up spares with my strike ball its extremely hard to get used to.

AM not A CHICK OF BOWLING but I wanted to be in Manda's clique And why would I "saw" pins in half, THATS A WASTE OF PINS! I'd rather blow it over with my storm, and 21mph ball speed on dry shots.
