You mean angular for a dull solid but not angular in general?  That I could see.  You are right on the comparison with other dull balls in the USBC mag.  I think what I thought I was seeing with the SA was more overall hook so it covers more boards but does it gradually throughout the lane.  

I was using the Triple XTreme before the SA and it seemed to be totally nutty even when it was dull (I had it drilled for a tame arcing motion).  The only way I could control it consistently was to take a lot of side roll out of it.  Once I did that, it worked fine.  With this ball I can roll it off my hand and put my natural amount of side turn on it and it isn't going to take off on me unless I totally blow the shot.

Another dull solid I was using before that was the Dark Thunder and that one was very nice and smooth going down the lane.

I only need one dull ball for my league so it isn't a major need for me.
