i just bought a 14lb spit fire NIB off ebay for a whopping 65.00 including shipping.my question is what type of oil pattern is this ball best used for and is it a good ball?i have seen norm duke win a lot of tournaments with it and figured it would be a good fit in my arsenal for the fall leagues.any feedbakc is greatly appreciated.

it is a great medium oil ball, you'll get a strong arc not a hard flip on the backend, because the core is the Inverted Twin-V. You'll get alot of longevity out of the ball, it is a very well made Storm ball as all of them are. Reactor Pearl coverstock takes well to changes.

Oh, and get used to being hungry while bowling with it. Cinnamon-Apples is the smell you get from it.
My Dad has a Pyro, it smells like Lifesavers. After its been in the bag for a week, the smell will be stronger than normal too

For me the Spit Fire is a medium-light ball with the reaction SV described.  The inverted Twin-V provides a 'between an arc and a flip' move with a nice drive at the end.

I wouldn't use Norm Duke as any indication of how the ball would react though... I'm not quite sure he's mortal.

With a pin-up drilling, mine actually is pretty flippy on the back.  But yes, medium to medium-light for the most part is where it fits best, not very fond of carrydown from what I've seen.

And it smells exactly like Apple Jacks cereal.

I agree with almost everything that's been said so far, right down to the Apple Jacks

A good ball on a variety medium conditions.

I have a pin up drilling with an x-hole on my pap. I wouldn't call it flippy but more of a hard-arc. The x-hole probably tames the the back end down some. IMO it can handle a small amount of carrydown but I've knocked the polish off of it. I got too much over/under with the factory polish. Besides leagues it worked well on the Cheetah and Chameleon patterns in the PBA league I bowled in last summer.
