I bowl one of my leagues on some older but well maintained wood lanes. 1st night was last night, I ended up using my Natural for the 2nd and 3rd game (after a 154 start) because everything else was hooking up early, even my Motiv Recon Silver was too much ball! A friend of mine suggested a Tropical Breeze. So how would you guys compare the Breeze to other dry lane balls? I'm thinking of the pearl rather than the solid. Thanks!

Well if the Breeze is anything like the Tropical Heat, It's still going to be a Monster of a ball for the price.. Now my question is how deep are you playing??? And how Deep can you play and still be comfortable??? Where are you starting at the beginning of the night and where do you finish at?

If you are going to get a Tropical Breeze and have it drilled up, and the lanes are hooking like you say, I'd try a drilling with the pin 2inches above your fingers ( cg in the middle ) and then just kick the CG out to a 4pm angle, Or do a Pin above your middle finger 1/2 inch to 1 inch and CG in the middle of your palm type drilling, it would be like a 5.5 to 5.75 pin to pap.

Well, I'm comfortable playing inside up to the 3rd arrow (I know that's not that far inside), after that I want to try a different ball and keep myself between 2nd and 3rd arrow ideally. I'm a lefty, there were not any other lefty's on the pair that night, they didn't dry up, but started out hooking right away. A typical move would be to move inside where there's more oil, but when I did it seemed to hook early, and if I swung it out, it would have a hard time recovering. So I straightened up and threw my Natural with some success playing right up 10 board, it gave me some wiggle room both inside and out.

Here are my stats if you want to give me a drill pattern you think might work.

Lefty
PAP: 5 3/8" over 5/8" up
Axis Tilt: 5-6*

Axis Rotation: 40-55*

Speed: 15-15.5 mph

RPM's: 300-325

The Tropical Breeze is NOTHING like the Tropical Heat. The Breeze is very, very tame, think Tropical Storm but instead of skid flip the Breeze is more of an arc off the dry. I threw one at two different Storm Open Houses and while all the other balls were hockey sticking off the oil, I had to move right and play down and in around 8 board. I highly recommend the Breeze for dry lanes.
