all this reading about the VG...
« on: January 21, 2009, 10:53:23 AM »
Here's the deal.  I am going to vegas (usbc open) in march and need a couple balls to fill the gap in my bag.  I have a chance to pick up a barely used VG, same span, identical thumb (my oval was based on this guy's) for a bargain price.  I mapped out my coordinates, ended up being something like 60* x 4 5/8 x 50*.  Thing is, I need a ball for longer conditions.  15-16mph, 350 rev rate, 5 1/8 over by 1/8 up pap.  any ideas?  will this fit the bill?  will it be too squirty on that flat pattern?

the Virtual Gravity is meant for longer, flatter patterns... It should work great for what you want

I used my VG last week on the pattern they will be using in vegas and it fit the bill perfectly. Good Luck.

Wow that's awesome.  Usually the pattern for Nationals isn't finalized until a week or so before the tournament starts.  You must have great connections.

Drew,

This should be a good match up for you. You can knock the shine off it with 2000abr if you feel it is too squirty.

Hopefully one of the centers in central Ohio will download the shot to try out. The Palace usually does, but they will not tweak it if the volumes are off. If Sequoia does download it, they will usually make the tweaks to try to get it close.

I will let your dad know if they do download it at the Palace or if I hear any "scuttlebutt" on another center doing it. He bowls in front of the pro shop on Monday nights.
