The new Storm Absolute Power is crazy good. I just drilled mine last week and have used it in two different scenarios successfully. I chose to drill mine 70 x 5 1/4 x 30. This places the mass bias in the thumb and has created a piece that is an absolute lock in my bag.

Here are the two different scenarios… the first I played on a fresh 43 foot, 27, mill 4 to 1 ratio tournament shot, it gave me the berries when others were struggling terribly. The second scenario in which I found it useful was late on a transitioned house shot where the lanes became severely clift. The back end on the par in question had tons of carry down and I needed help to get the ball to finish correctly through the deck. in both instances, I had my competitors eyes bugging out of their heads at the reaction I was able to create while they continued struggle.

I can’t say enough good things at this point about this ball. It is an upgrade from what was already a good piece in the original Absolute.

You should strongly consider adding this to your own arsenal if you bowl competitively or find yourself in either of the two scenarios that I described earlier.

Sam Cooper Roto Grip Amateur Staff. The Storm Absolute Power I was excited for when it was announced. I immediately thought to myself that this might be the new Rubicon! So far, this ball has not disappointed. I drilled this pin down layout numbers are 45x5x75(might need a pin up one in the future by how good the current one is!). The Absolute Power features the R2S Deep Solid Cover wrapped around the Sentinel core. I liked the original Absolute for league or lighter volume sport shots. The Power should be even more versatile.
Me being higher speed higher rev rate. The out of box surface was tricky for me at 4000 abralon. Liked the motion that the ball made but it would not always recover or go through the pins correctly. I hit it with a 2000 pad to have some teeth and the ball came alive. R2S Deep solid is still cleaner and more responsive than other solid covers in the SPI family. You can tell when throwing either Absolute that the ball does not pay much attention to the front part of the lane. That being said, the ball retains a good amount of energy for the pins. It creates a strong arcing motion that will be usable for a variety of conditions. Personally, I think that this is a ball that has been missing from the line since the Rubicon. With the older surfaces in my hometown of Pittsburgh we need more options with cleaner/weaker covers.

I think The Sentinel Core was well designed for straighter players like me. The Sentinel Core is a strong asymmetric core; however, it was purposely designed to be balanced in its shape. And because of that balance, I found the Sentinel Core to be like having the better of two worlds. You get the striking power of a strong asymmetric that produces a rolling thunder of continuation. And you get a smooth symmetric-type mid-lane rev’ing motion with a responsive torque off the pattern. So, combined, they create an added edge for us straighter players that keep us in competition against those high-rev, high–power players we struggle against.

The R2S Deep Coverstock, in my mind, is what makes the Absolute Power a ball that stands on its own success! The R2S Deep Solid has a textured depth to its pores, allowing my Absolute Power to cut cleanly through the front part of the lane without sacrificing the energy loss at the pins. And because the R2S Deep Solid doesn’t “roll at your toes,” straighter players will find that the R2S Deep Solid will provide a crisp, well-defined shape off the pattern with a more aggressive attack as it turns towards the pins. So, if you are a straighter player, the R2S Deep Coverstock is an excellent fit to roll on fresh THS conditions.
