Title: Storm and bowling style

The only people I see using storm equipment are crankers and others who can turn the ball. Anyone having success piping it up the boards ala Liz Johnson, and if so which balls seem to be best for dry, medium, oil. Used the Storm site matchmaker for some insite but wanted to here from the gurus. This is just for general input on piping up the boards. Thanks!

Liz Johnson uses storm..

If you find the right ball to match up with, you should be able to use any company..  Each company has high rg/low diff..  high rg/high diff, etc......

Match up your cover/core combo with your drilling options..  YOu should be ok..  Consult your local proshop and support your local pro shop(buy from them)

go with the special agent, sure fire , t road solid or thunderstruck solid there all very nice rolling balls

Storm balls match up for everyone. But especially for people that wants a huge backend motion (crankers).

The Storm Matchmaker feature suggested the Sure Fire. Being a hybrid it might be the best of both worlds. I think I'll try it and see what my reaction will be and progress from there. Had been considering an Agent as well.

I'm a stroker and have both the T-Road Solid and the Sure Fire. I like the look on the Sure Fire, very smooth and being a hybrid, I also find it very versatile. I can play the First Arrow with it, and if I need to, the fourth-fifth arrows with the same layout. If there's more oil then I jump outside and send the T-Road Solid, drilled to be very aggressive and very early up into the pins.

My only problem is that I sometimes get a bit of an over/under reaction. But these balls HIT and CARRY. I'd recommend them to anybody. The thing is, the layouts and cover stock preparations also have to match.

Gazoo had it right, It's Liz Johnson, no t in her last name.  

At our house, of the Storm users, I would say most are tweeners.  One guy I saw last night was using a Special Agent up the boards for most of the night before making a slight adjustment in.  When he did that he started carrying real light pocket hits.  Another older guy on a different also uses an older ball up the boards.

To me the line you are playing depends on the conditions that are out there and what ball you are using and how it is set up.  I don't play one line with any of these balls...

I agree, they can match up for the cast majority of players but, they seem to match up a bit better for power players and crankers than other brands due to the backend and continuation of Storm equipment. I am not saying they are not good for lower rev guys though. When you have a good amount of hand, alot of balls/brands will not have the recovery to play deep with them even if you have the hand. Storm usualy turns the corner and keeps going.

I myself have a SpitFire, that I enjoy real well. It usually is the ball I use to see how the lanes are reacting.  It will tell me how far the oil is down the lane. Because I am not the powerplayer. I am more a tweener and throw it fairly straight. But if it starts to come up high I can start to move in to about 13 and keep my same line, but if anymore that then I have to switch balls, because I just don't have the speed that I used to when I was younger to get the ball to come back.

I think their tendancy to be a long and strong company plays to most styles, however, the power guys that have trouble pushing balls threw the heads and people who fluff it and need help on the back seem to REALLY excel with the equipment.  Obviously, some love it, some, me included, don't get along with it.  I have only ever REALLY enjoyed the Eraser series, awesome stuff there, but it seems to me that Storm has lost some of its luster amongst the general public, maybe thats just in my area though.
