Storm Arsenal - Need suggestions on filling gaps!
« on: July 21, 2006, 08:46:42 AM »
Hi everyone,

I am contemplating putting together a Strom Arsenal.
Right now, I already have an X-Factor Vertigo and a Paradigm.
Could you guys help me out and suggest some balls in the empty slots
below? Also, I wouldn't mind using a particle pearl in one of those
empty slots to combat those nasty Wet/Dry type patterns.

My stats below...
Bowl = Right Handed
Style = High-End Tweener
Track = High Track that exists 1/2' inch to the left of the middle finger and just over the edge of the thumb.
PAP = 5 1/2> Over & 5/8^ Up
Speed = As far as speed goes I throw on avg around 15.25-16mph clocked at the pindeck. (Quibica scorers)
Rev-Rate = 325-400 (Approximate)
Axis Rotation = Normally 75-90 degrees
Axis Tilt = Around 11.5-12.5 inch track = 7-13 degrees axis tilt

Balls can be in the current line-up or recently retired balls that can still
be obtained.

Also, feel free to add another category if you think I'm missing a specific
condition and/or reaction.

Thanks so much!

Heavy - Early Roll *Empty Slot*

Medium-Heavy - X-Factor Vertigo 800 Grit (Strong Arc)

Most Mediums - Paradigm (W/Ebonite Factory Polish) (Skid-flip)

Most Mediums - Benchmark Even Arc Reaction *Empty Slot*

Medium Light - Arc *Empty Slot*

Light - *Empty Slot*

Regards,

Or you could try this lineup:

Passion- Heavy
Vertigo - Medium/Heavy
Paradigm- Medium/Heavy
Fired Up- Medium
Hybrid - Medium/Light
Tropical- Light

I see some overlap. With the Verigo, you really don't need another heavy oil ball. If you take the Passion out...then you can put the Agent in the lineup easily just below the Paradigm as a more even breaking medium/heavy ball. Fired Up is a good medium ball. The Hybrid is an excellent light/medium bowling ball, and the Tropical is a very popular light/dry ball.

try this one:
heavy: trifecta or passion. i haven't thrown the passion but i do have a trifecta, and it is VERY strong, but at the same time controllable. it blends over under better than any ball i've owned. i often describe the reaction i get as a blue hammer on steriods x2!

bench mark even reaction: definitely go with the dark thunder. i have a friend on the regional tour and he says the storm guys out there swear by them to read lanes.

med light: i wait and see how the thunderstrucks turn out, but i'm getting alot of buzz on these as well. if you weren't fortunate to roll any of the old thunder series, then you'll be in for a treat from what i'm told. same basic reaction as the old series, just a little stronger overall now due to increasing oil loads of today.
light: tropicals or the big hits or hits.
be warned, the tropicals can be deceiving! on the right conditions, they can be very skid flippy! i think they are a little stronger than advertised.
*on a side note*: you can pick up a new trifecta on bowlingball.com for around $120, with free shipping. for that price you can't beat it. i think if you get a passion, a great ball don't get me wrong, but you already have a vertigo, and i think the passion may overlap a little. the trifecta will be earlier and stronger then your vertigo. i doubt you'll see and conditions to warrant the surface prep of 500 that the passion comes with. hope this helps! stopncrank

You could try the dubble agent for heavy oil.

unless you do a lot( i mean a lot) of tounrneys, keeps it simple, 1 hvy ball, 1 all around med 1 light, spare if needed.
