iQ Nano Pearl vs iQ Tour Nano
« on: August 10, 2020, 11:03:18 AM »
Hey kids ..... I'm a huge fan of the green/red iQ Tour Nano solid ball from 5 years ago .... I still use mine occasionally.

For those of you who have thrown the original solid one and the new pearl one, how do they compare?

Hopefully your post has better luck than mine did.  I had a 150+ times read without a comment, so I deleted mine.

I actually did a comparison in my wife’s review, I don’t have time at the moment to link it or say much but I’ll get back to you later. In the meantime if you go to my channel and find the “Angel’s Share” review for it, I include Tour Nano footage in the video for comparison.

Well...... I can now answer this for myself.

Both balls are drilled same -- pin 4-1/2 from pap above fingers.
Surfaces are box (3000 for Nano Pearl and 4000 for Tour Nano)

What's the difference .... not much.   The Tour Nano seems to a few feet longer and I assume this is due to the smoother surface.  I think both at same surface would be almost identical.

I assume the Nano Pearl MAY have a higher load of nano particles .. but that is a guess.

Next I will put the Tour Nano at the same 3000 and compare.  Right now I think when you can use one, you can use the other.

I’ll start by saying I didn’t matchup well with the IQ Nano Solid, it was angle issues forever with a strong early cover and a low diff core, it was too strong to close down angles and not enough core to go through the pins when moving left. That said, I think the nano pearl matches up much better and is far more versatile than the nano solid with better length and continuation. It’s stronger than the OG IQ Tour for me at box and surface changes create significantly different shapes just like the OG. I’m still carrying both with different surfaces but I’m starting to think I don’t need the OG but time will tell.
