Any word of the Clutch??
« on: July 21, 2007, 12:11:14 PM »
Just wondered if there are any details leaked about the new ball yet?

Also has anybody seen or thrown a Sure Fire. How does that look? From the picture it looks quite a bit more pearl than solid so I am expecting something close to the Spitfire, but its just a guess..

I think the Sure Fire is going to be stronger than the Spit Fire, probably a med/hvy ball at most.

after talking to schlem, at JOG last week, the clutch isnt even a realy ball. right now they arent even designing a new ball for the rest of this year. and only expect about 4-6 new balls a year instead of 12 like they used too.

No more gear for the rest of the year? :'( Sadness, I love the anticipation of new stuff, even if I don't get it lol.

Staff letters say Sure Fires should ship week of Aug. 13.

And there IS another ball coming. I know what it is but don't know that I should say anything. It is NOT the Clutch ... unless that is in addition to the one I know about.

Storm is reducing it's number of releases, to about 6 per year. Another shift series ball is likely, but it's all guesses from there to what it is.

I will say that I like the description I was told. What is involved makes perfect sense as a tweak.

I am a Storm PBA regional staffer since 1996. My sources are Storm employees. I just know that some of the things I am told are probably not for public release. But do figure that speaking in generalities is not a problem.

I had heard from the pro shop that all of the companies were going to tone it down this year.  They said it would be interesting to see if they actually do that.
