From what I have heard a particle version is still up in the air with the vertigo core. Does anyone really need that much ball?

My point about needing a ball that strong is how much of a market is there actually for such an agressive ball? They certainly aren't going to make a ball for only a couple hundred people.

As strong as the vertigo is out of the box would particle really add that much more friction but still maintain the downlane reaction on the backend? I think even a low load particle in that ball may be too much.

I agree with Billy Ray, the Vertigo out of box is very strong.  I personally own two Vertigo's, one is a 3.5 pin with the pin just above the bridge with the RAD swung out 1" right of thumb and polished and with this ball with this drilling and finish combonation it is very agressive.  On the other hand my other Vertigo has a short pin of 1.5" with it located just below the ring finger and the RAD 1.5" right of the thumb (box condition), this ball has the most overall hook in my current arsenal(see profile) and hasn't seen much action on THS.

I think if they put a higher load particle in a vertigo core it will just end up like the El Nino Exit which was a condition ball and burned up way too early without a flood. And besides that we already have the Flash Flood which is cheaper and hooks in heavy oil.

There is no need for a solid particle in the vertigo line. Vertigo is strong enough.
