Storm Diablo
« on: February 24, 2010, 09:57:15 PM »
I know this ball is older but I had a storm Diablo given to me and I just want to know what bowlers that used this bowl can tell me about it.
I am a lefty throwing down the 1st arrow, I am throwing mostly between 11 and 13, not a hard fast thrower. I my ball hooks at the back end. my house has med to heavy oil. So before I drill this Diablo I want some info on it.
Could not find anything online about this ball.

I had one, and loved it. It for me was what they call a benchmark ball, the first ball out of your bag that you use to read lanes with. With it having a solid coverstock and a med-high differential, expect is to be strong but smooth with the proper drilling.

Mine was drilled Rico, and it got into an early roll with a smooth continuous backend reaction. For most, this ball will be a great ball for leagues. While it is an older ball, if drilled properly and with the right surface adjustment it can handle most any league pattern.

More than anything, find a good local pro shop that will take the time to find your axis point, and drill it with the proper drilling and fit for you.

I've never thrown it, but I saw one or two thrown in leagues.  I remember an older gentleman had one with decent revs but slower-ish speed.  The ball gave him an amazing controlled reaction.  His was drilled pin above ring, CG about an inch from grip center.

I had one for a while...very rolly for me and I couldn't get it to match up with the lane conditions I was bowling on (tried several different surfaces but to no avail)...ended up giving it away...
