Title: Storm Faithfuls, HELP!
Post by: ebwkidvicious on June 29, 2005, 05:47:43 PM
Okay, right now I am looking at the Vendetta Black Solid from Dynothane as my medium versatile ball.  I was going to add a little shine so it wouldn't be the same cover as my Vertigo.  Here's the problem, I am a Storm addict!  I haven't drilled anything else for about 5 balls now.  I know I will miss that Storm Logo on the ball.  Can anyone recommend/swear by a Storm ball with a similar midlane roll (Solid Reactive).  Everyone knows that Vendetta ball is pretty awesome/versatile, but I wanna stay faithful, help...

PS:  Lefty, medium revs, speed, and axis of rotation.  looking for good reaction on medium top-hat house shot with medium carrydown.

Have you looked at the fired up? I think it can give you what you are looking for?

The Fired Up is too much skid snap for what I am looking for.  I need something with a predictable midlane roll but a polish to make it react a bit later.  A Pearl is too hit or miss for me, I am looking for area and various pattern coverage.

you'd be able to knock them out Of the park with a screamin banshee. solid, polished, good midlane.

If you could get ahold of a Super Charge . .  Closest thing would be the forthcoming Diablo, other than that, Storm doesn't have anything in the way of solid reactives that are worth anything (Atomic Charge sucks . . )

I'd have to disagree on the Atomic Charge. I had nothing but great success with mine. I'd recommend the A/C to anyone, I think it's a great ball. JMO.

Why wouldn't you look at a Hot Rod Pro Stock?!? I think that would fit what you're looking for. Or you could gloss up a Flash Flood or Screamin Banshee. Of course, if you ask me, my personal arsenal has this spot filled with a Lane#1 Carbide Bomb. I haven't thrown any of those storm balls, just going by the specs and what I've seen from other bowlers around town.

PS...you could try to find a Barbed Wire, as I know a few people in my scratch league that would give up their wife before that ball!

I'm a lefty and I love my Screamin Banshee, drilled w/ a leverage grip I have medium revs and above average speed, but not much above average. So, we are pretty close in our styles. Great snap, but its not too agressive. I think the new Ragin banshee might be a little much for what your looking for. If you have medium revs/speed you'll get the reaction your looking for. I have one and plan on getting another. When it doubt, thats the ball I grab. I think the fired up is too much for what your looking for. Just my 2 cents, hope it helps.
