bring back the x-factor!!
« on: October 20, 2008, 04:25:55 AM »
I think that storm should do a remake of the x-factor! I mean it's the ball that has the most reviews on almost any site. Come on guys, bring back out the x-factor!

My X-factor is fresh still at around 25 games, it has a strong core in it. Trust me does not move as much as it did when I first got the ball 6 years ago, it is ball that i like that has been through 3 grips so that is why the games are so low.

On a lighter medium still good but anything more is pretty straight compared to newer stuff. I have recently used the ball so my findings are present day not from memory, the new oils make this ball push too far down lane.

It would need reactor or the cell pearl cover on it, otherwise it would be a let down from being the beast it once was.

I use my accutread balls like the Hot Wire for dry lanes now, just shot 242 a few weeks back with it. I do however use my Jolt Particle on mediums and it does hook pretty good still but remember it has particle load in it.

I am still hoping for an Accu-Tread pearl ball with a strong(er) core, e. g. the Twin-V core from the Fire line.

On the flip side, my dad's still rolling his X-Factor, it's got countless games on it, it's beat up looking, and it still outhooks almost everything he's ever thrown.

Last year at the Gravity Shift/Cell seminars they said they were abandoning that tri-disc technology in the X-Factor series of cores.  Reason being is that when the inner wrap is poured around them, there is a possibility of the different density discs shifting up/down and side-to-side.  There is much more certainty in going with a single locked shape, thus the Shape-Lock series of cores in the Shift line which replaced the X-Factor line for high end assymetricals.

Unless a distributor runs a special order, I think we've seen the last of the X-Factors.

Cal Bowling Supply is your best bet for special runs, they have done it twice with the Dark Thunder balls.

X-Factor Deuce is still one of the greatest balls I've ever thrown.

I have had my x-factor for some time now, and I have to admit, I never leave
home without it. Truly, one of the best, if not the best Storm has released.
As most you I'm sure are aware, the majority of houses today are not laying down as much oil as in the past, and not going down as far.  All in the interest of keeping their costs down.  My x-factor still doesn't fail me.  I have found it to be the most predictable, hardest hitting, trustworthy ball I have ever thrown. Needless to say the carry is not to be believed.  I also will
gladly sign the petition.  I am on board, sportsfans.

Regards,

Tony

When I first bought a X Factor, it hooked so much, it was un-control-able!  But after about a month it tamed down and became very predictable.   I loved the ball so much, that i ended up buying a second Xfactor which was awesome, but the drilling was a bit too condition specific.  But i did have a few 700's and a 300game with it.

I still have my Xfactor Xtreme which is my heavy oil ball, and still hits hard.   The one I wish i could of tried out was the Xfactor Ace.
