Help with new ball choice - I have a credit to use
« on: April 13, 2007, 01:25:48 AM »
I had a problem with my thunderstruck solid and I have a credit to use in my proshop that I am getting ancy to use.  I'm not sure if I should get another t-struck or perhaps upgrade to an agent, just because I've wanted one forever.  I am a tweener, about 15-16 mph.  Most houses I bowl at have Pro-Anvil Lanes.  Here is what I currently have:

Trifecta - Pro Pin (Don't use much)
Paradigm (Oldest)
Domination
Pyro
Fired Up
Blue Vibe for dry lanes

Any advice would be appreciated (Jeff!).

I don't know what type of reaction you are looking for, but I think the Special Agent is one of the best bowling balls I have ever thrown.

go with the shift which would also be a great ball.

Back to the original question:

I would say it depends on how much you liked the ball.  I think with any friction the T-Struck is a supastar if you like that controlled hard arc.  I don't know what problem you had with it, but if it were me I would obviously replace it.

I don't think you can go wrong with an Agent though because it seems like a powered up Thunderstruck.  I guess it depends on if you want a bit more out of that ball or not.

I think the Special Agent and T-Road Pearl are must haves.

T-Road has the inverted thunder core and the new cover.  That may definitely be another option.

The Special Agent is spicy hot but I think if you are trying to replace the T-Struck's role, the Special Agent would be quite a different ball in terms of oil handling and overall hook amount.

I would def like to have something I can play deeper inside if neccessary.  I've also considered getting a Special Agent and putting some polish on it.  I have always tried to stay away from a dull surface, just because of the maintenance and I have always liked the long and left reaction.  Anyone had any success with that option?

I know some people on here were polishing their Special Agents, hopefully they will chime in.

I know the Special Agent and T-Road have to be the two most popular balls Storm has right now.  Maybe an R2S adventure would be fun since you already have some reactors.

I don't care what you buy...as long as it has the R2S coverstock...
