How are the Tropical Storms?
« on: June 22, 2006, 11:47:04 PM »
I have one on the way to use under my Doom, and I'm just wondering what people think of this ball. Is it usable in light to very dry conditions?  Could it maybe double as a spare ball?  (I can take my hand out of the ball pretty well.)  How will it work for a medium speed, low rev player like myself?  Is it usable on a short pattern sport shot, or would I have to drill it that way?  Any general drilling suggestions?  Thanks!  This will be my first Storm, and I'm excited to give it a try.  I'm hoping it will complete my simple, three-ball arsenal of the Big One, the Doom, and the TS.

Stop trying to impress other people, people mostly care about what you're saying about them not you.

I would say I am a medium speed low rev player too and it works great for me.  Yeah I can also take out 10 pins with it if I want to but I mainly use the Blue Dot for spares.  However, I was using it as a spare ball before I got a Blue Dot.  It is tame enough to where you can take some hand out of it and pick up spares no problem.  As a strike ball, I usually play 2nd arrow or between the 2nd and 1st arrow.

I just got a first ever 238/clean game last night with the Tropical Storm so I am pretty amped up about the ball.

Unfortunately, I can't really compare it to other dry lane balls because I haven't used them personally.  So how does it compare to others?  I don't know.  I can say that I learned to hook with the Tropical Storm and I still use it as a main ball when my medium ball is overhooking too much.  I really like the ball.
