Great point! These balls are often overlooked by the masses because "benchmark" reaction isn't usually ideal on house shots; nevertheless, if you bowl on something tricky, balls like this one are worth their weight in gold!

Personally, I've owned all three IQ Tour balls, and I love them all. The solid is great for figuring things out or trying to maintain control of the pocket. The Fusion is great when the heads start to go, but you still want consistency, and the Pearl is fantastic when you have to start moving in. I originally though the Pearl would only be a THS ball because of what I had heard about its motion, but it was actually exceptional on tougher patterns. The ball just went through the pins so well for me, it wasn't even funny. Sadly, it cracked big time while sitting on the rack in my basement. I am still saddened by it and am contemplating picking up another. It is THAT good.

Thinking about one of these for a tricky AMF Syn THS that I am struggling on. I have a Fusion but I struggle with it carrying and bad leaves, yet it's been awesome at a different house.

How do you guy like to drill up the solid version. Weak? Strong? I am higher tilt and rotation. Thanks

As a big fan of lower differential balls for many years.

For almost 12 years I loved my Columbia Icon2 (diff .36)and used it over and over and over at one of our top hat centers!   Bwahhhh, it split in two in unlucky year 13 of its life!.   It worked best 90 percent of the time at that center with nice backends and good stripper.

I was a fan of the Brunswick Twisted Fury pearl and Solid.

I now am using a lower flare Assymetric on my Wet Dry shot the Pyramid Chosen Path.  This ball with a diff of about .42(a little higher and asymmetry near .13) can really give the come back without too much midlane.

HOWEVER, the balls in the (.3X)have limitations!  They don't turn the corner on slop or for inside unless your friction is significant.  They don't have a ton of midlane but maybe if you have friction in the mids that is perfect.  Yes I can see them being great on league shots on the right for most of the set!

For 12 years I have lobbied to have manufactures create these .3X diff balls to reduce midlane and now they have but here is what I see as their drawbacks.
1.  Drillers are drilling them too weakly not taking in to account their low diff.
2.  Bowlers with other top hat balls like the Punch out above drilled properly or my Freakn Frantic can get inside you and throw prop wash in to your line ending up making your too weakly drilled IQ tour look like the boat anchor it does in this Video.

I see it everyday.

Drill em right and use them right!  They are simply tools like any other 6 iron!
