I gave up on my 15lb Hyroad. That arsenal spot is better filled by the iQ Tour Solid. Honestly, for me, the iQ line of equipment still is the best in the industry. I wish I would have stumbled onto it sooner. I guess I will take the money from the Hyroad and put it towards the "iQ to be named later". I'm sure we will see something towards summer

I know this is an old topic but I thought I would put my two cents in. I picked up a couple of the new Hy Roads a couple of years ago and did not like them. They seemed to hook early and did not have the hitting power of the old ones. Living in Utah, close to Brigham City where Storm bowling balls are manufactured, I had a chance to talk to the quality control rep. He indicated that there were differences in the way the new ones are made but he would not go into specifics.
I have a old HyRoad that has over a thousand games on it and it rolls better than a lot of the newer equipment that has come out.
Reissuing a bowling ball line doesn't necessarily mean that the reissue will roll the same. Brunswick has reissued the Danger Zone, Rhino Pro, Quantum green, red and black, and they are not as good as the old issues. I am curious as to what people think of the reissued Hammer Vibe line.

So in this case, I better hold on to my entire !Q line, which I own because eventually, they will design some more of them, and as mentioned, with different formulations of the coverstock, etc, it will present a totally different reaction/motion.

In answer to the vibe question, I had a cobalt vibe that I replaced with the new Blue Vibe. Not quite the same as the cobalt but a very good core shell matchup that I like . Much better than the Virals that used the vibe core and were intended to replace the Vibes.

The more hand you have, the more you'll love HyRoads.

I've had 3 Hyroads and I haven't seen any difference in any of them. Yeah there will be small fluctuations caused by the fact the raw materials aren't always going to be exactly the same, but the bigger difference is how everything else around is changing. Oils are getting thicker and heavier, lanes are either being replaced or the existing lanes are getting older, your mechanics change slightly pretty well constantly, etc. Don't think there's anything magical about the early batch Hyroads, I'm still stunned how good the brand new ones are.

Just bought my first Hy-Road a couple of months ago. The Hy-Road is so good I will buy another 1 maybe 2 if Storm decided to retire it.
