critical theoory vs lucid
« on: January 20, 2013, 01:48:49 PM »
I read the forum that last compared the two of these bowling balls but didn't receive the answer i was looking for. Which ball hooks more? And would it be dumb to own both. I already know I am going to by the lucid but I want to know if it would be a good decision to buy both to drill the ball that hooks significantly weaker to compliment each other. If both balls are about the same in performance, what ball would compliment one of these? Thanks in advance to any advice.

To answer your question, the Critical Theory is long and strong on heavy oil. Whereas, the Lucid will be earlier and stronger off the spot. Its not bad to have both, they actually make a pretty decent combo.

On a personal note, being left-handed and owning a Critical Theory, if you as a right hander dont have a CT in your bag, YOU LOSING! Lol! Everyone clamours for long and strong on heavy oil and that is the flippiest ball on heavier patterns I've ever thrown. I love watching the reaction of mine making oil look stupid.

Definetly will buy a critical theory off bowlingball.com for 135. But what presents a better early roll a lucid nano pearl or defiant soul?

I would say the Lucid.  I own the Soul and it is pretty clean for a ball as strong as it is in the oil. My teammates own a nano pearl and lucid. The lucid is by far the earliest from what I have seen.

I am very curious as to why you want to know, which one hooks the most? To me, the Lucid is earlier, yet straighter than the CT, which hooks more, and is more angular.....but the Lucid carries extremely well! So it doesn't matter which one hooks the most if they both get the job done.

What this means is, one ball will give you a different angle of attack versus the other. Something to think about.

The reason is because I am looking for a certain look on the lanes. Based on thaat post, I would probably prefer the critical theory because of the angle it can provide me.
