Not in the same universe for me.  Intense very strong and hooks throughout the lane, Code Red is very clean the whole way down the lane and strong but smooth on the backend.  Intense easily an arrow stronger. 

ok, that's closer to the difference that i'm seeing between the two. it seemed strange to me that both bowling this month and the bowlers journal said that the intense has more length and was smoother than the code red at the breakpoint. even the staff members for storm's own review for the intense have differing views between the two.

now i'm wondering if i should plug my code red and redrill it with a lower drill angle and larger val angle so that it rolls earlier and doesn't go through the hook phase too quickly. although the code red was my favorite ball until the intense was released the one thing that i don't like about its reaction is that it seems to stand up too quickly and goes into more of a forward roll which tends to leave a lot of flat ten pins if i miss it at the bottom of my swing.

i'd like to have somewhat of a larger gap for the intense and code red and the two new pieces that i'd like to try, the daredevil danger and the all out show off. even though i can only make a guess at how the two newer balls will react i think that the code red needs to be kind of earlier so that it doesn't overlap too much with the newer equipment.

Code Red is just a smoother ball, that's the thing about both it and the Black is that they have pretty weak covers on them.  On Storm's hook scale, R2S is like 5th from the bottom and there's like 15 stronger covers that they make.  When you pair that with the strongest core they make, you get a ball that looks really aggressive to the eye but ultimately isn't.  You have to just trust it to get down the lane.  It looks like it's chewing and is going to turn sideways but then doesn't.  Intense on the other hand will, R3S is much stronger than R2S.
