Got a free Rapid Fire compare to my t-road pearl?
« on: December 01, 2009, 12:55:11 PM »
Recieved a free Rapid fire pearl recently and i already have a t-road pealr as a part of my arsenal.  From what i read it seems that they will end up being quite similar.  Any thoughts if they are, and if so any ideas for drilling it to add it to my arsenal to maybe be a step down from my t-road?

I use a Rapid Fire Pearl and my dad has the T-Road Pearl... to my experience, I've used my dad's T-Road Pearl (both with almost similar layouts) a couple times and it's hook potential is probably about 10 to 20% less than my RFP which makes it great for drier lanes. But then again it depends on layouts and techniques.

I've never heard much about the RFP, didn't realize it was such a strong piece.  If it's such a strong ball why did storm decide to discontinue the rapid fire's and the entire fire line?  regardless ball kind of holds a sentimental value so is it something that would still be a good addition to my existing arsenal???

I wonder why too. But its what all companies do, they'll discontinue a ball eventually. I guess the fire line wasn't getting enough sales because people were too much into balls like Virtual Gravity and the Thunder and Tropical Lines of balls. The RFP is the most powerful ball I've ever thrown (pin action-wise) and it far overpowers the Premium and Thunder lines... but then again I'm a power player.

So it pretty much sounds like the consensus is that the RFP is gonna be a step up from from my TRP Hopefully i can find a way to fit it into being a productive piece in my arsenal.  You guys are kinda making me excited to get this thing drilled out.  I assumed it would be a ball closer to the Hot Rods and everyone is making it sound more like a VE.  I guess we will see what it can do tonight then.

I had a RFP and it was an "eh" ball. Good mid-lane for a pearl (more than the T-Road Pearl in my opinion) and was not nearly as whippy in the back as the aforementioned TRP. Overall, I thought it was a lot smoother than advertised, but it did throw pins all over the building, great carry the straighter I was able to go with it.

If you can't use it I'll take it off your hands.

All the videos I've seen make it look very snappy.  I'm probably the only person in the world that prefers the Fire line over the Thunder line, and my Rapid Fire Solid is my go to ball.  I had a TRP and thought it was too much on lighter conditions and not enough when there was more oil.
