i don't know about anyone else but i wish that storm would give more detailed info when it comes to ball spec's. if you go to their website it posts the rg and differential values for their 16 pound balls ONLY. i recently emailed storm to ask what are the numbers for a 14 pound paradigm and a super sport pearl but the answer that i got was "they are within a few points of the 16 pound ball". how many points is "a few" and is that up or down from the 16 pound ball that i'm comparing it to. that is a little too vague when someone is trying to make a informed choice of a ball and how to have it drilled.

case in point: the differential for a 16 pound ebonite crossfire is 0.043 which would make it seem better for medium-dry lanes but the differential for the 14 pounder is 0.50, which is a big difference if you want a ball for that condition. using that for an example, if the differential for a 16 pound super sport pearl is 0.036 the differential for a 14 pounder could be as high as 0.043 or as low as 0.029 which only increases the likelihood of frustration if/when a ball doesn't react quite like you want it to. if i know that a 14 pound ball will probably flare that much more than the 16 i can drill it weaker or if it flares alot less i'll know that i either have to drill it stronger to get a desired reaction or look at another ball that might.

although storm isn't the only large manufacturer that is guilty of this i wish that they would be more helpful in this area. is it that much harder to test a new line of balls and add this info to your website like ebonite/hammer does? the picture of a ball's path to the pocket is nice but nowhere near as helpful as this info would be. there is already enough guesswork involved when buying a new ball but it is worse when you don't have all of the information at your disposal that should be readily available.
